revenexx docs MCP in Claude Desktop
Add the revenexx documentation MCP server to Claude Desktop so it can search and read the docs while you work. The server is hosted and public — no install, no API key.
Add the server
Open Claude Desktop's Settings (Ctrl+, / Cmd+,), go to the Developer tab, and click Edit Config to open claude_desktop_config.json. Add the revenexx-docs entry:
{
"mcpServers": {
"revenexx-docs": {
"command": "npx",
"args": [
"mcp-remote",
"https://revenexx.dev/mcp"
]
}
}
}
Save the file and restart Claude Desktop.
mcp-remote proxy. This needs Node.js installed (npx ships with it).Node installed with nvm
Claude Desktop does not load your shell profile, so a Node installed through nvm is not on its PATH and "command": "npx" fails to start. Use the absolute path to npx and put the matching Node bin directory in env. Find both with which npx in a terminal; the version in the paths below is an example.
{
"mcpServers": {
"revenexx-docs": {
"command": "/Users/you/.nvm/versions/node/v22.9.0/bin/npx",
"args": [
"mcp-remote",
"https://revenexx.dev/mcp"
],
"env": {
"PATH": "/Users/you/.nvm/versions/node/v22.9.0/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin"
}
}
}
}
