Limits and what's next
Analytics is the thinnest public surface on the platform. Being explicit about that is more useful to you than a roadmap: it is the difference between an afternoon spent searching the API Explorer for an endpoint that does not exist and an afternoon spent building the thing you actually need.

The one-line version
There is no analytics API. Keep your own store authoritative, model on events rather than on a Cockpit screen, and declare an analytics.json now because it is the one part of this that is shipped and versioned.
